Wendy is a consummate mediator. She helped our creative team communicate fluidly across multiple artistic disciplines in order to tell a rich and complicated story. She takes the role of dramaturg and fills
it with oxygen, expanding its function. I really believe Wendy's work is special.
—Lisa Channer, artistic director, Theatre Novi Most
As a freelance dramaturg for more than 20 years, I've worked on over 100 performances, from experimental work to classics, music theater to dance. I've collaborated with individual playwrights and theater companies from the Twin Cities, New York, Chicago, New Haven, and elsewhere on staged readings, workshops, full-length productions, and festivals.
My professional training at Yale School of Drama focused on collaboration and communication as central elements of the creative process. I bring this knowledge—along with a strong foundation in dramatic structure, character development, and theater history—to the table and the stage, in full support of the playwright's vision and the production's goals.
I'm a frequent presence at The Playwrights' Center in Minneapolis, working with established and emerging writers for their PlayLabs Festival, and have partnered with local companies Theater Latté Da, History Theatre, and Theatre Novi Most.
I'd love to know more about what you're working on!
